This is the first print from my first etching. Printmaking is very new to me, but as an artist, I see it as a new opportunity to incorporate my ideas from other medias, such as painting. I am currently a Painting major, but have always enjoyed drawing and the various techniques of mark making, especially cross-hatching. In a short explanation, the subject matter is my representation of a post-apocolypic world, which incorporates visual references from The Great War (World War I) and the corrosion of various machine parts.
